Tinubu promises fiscal discipline, power sector boost at APC convention
PRESIDENT Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fiscal stability and infrastructure development, pointing to a 400 percent oversubscription of Nigeria’s Eurobond and plans for a 1,600MW Grid Asset Management Company (GAMCO) as signs of renewed investor confidence.
Speaking on Friday night at the APC’s 4th Elective National Convention in Abuja, he told the business community that ongoing reforms, including subsidy removal and exchange rate adjustments, are laying the groundwork for long-term growth.
At the convention, Tinubu described the gathering as a pivotal moment for both the party and Nigeria’s democratic journey, urging newly elected officials to embrace unity and fairness in order to strengthen the party’s internal cohesion.
The president said the convention provides an opportunity to reinforce shared values and renew commitment to the founding ideals of the party. He reflected on the formation of the APC 13 years ago, noting that its founders set aside differences in pursuit of national renewal.
