Omokri to Mexico, Fani-Kayode to Germany, Ugwuanyi to Greece: Here’re approved postings for new ambassadors

PRESIDENT Bola Tinubu has approved the postings for Nigerian new ambassadors. The list contains some surprises, with Mr Femi Fani-Kayode overseeing Germany, while Mr Reno Omokri goes to Mexico.

Former Enugu State Governor, Mr Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, is moving to Greece, while Senator Ita Enang will oversee South Africa. Surprisingly too, Nigeria has a new sheriff in the United Nations as Senator Jimoh Ibrahim becomes Nigeria’s new representative there. Former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Mahmud Yakubu, will oversee Qatar.

The list contains both career and non-career ambassadors, with non-career ambassadors getting plum countries.

Here’s a list of the approved ambassadors:

Non-career ambassadors / political appointees

Senator Grace Bent – Lome, Togo

Sen. Ita Enang – South Africa

Ikpeazu Victor – Spain

Nkechi Linda Ufochukwu – Tel-Aviv, Israel
