INEC uploads 87.48% of Osun guber election results on iReV amid concerns

THE Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has uploaded 87.48 percent of Osun Governorship election results on its Result Viewing Portal (IReV).

So far, the results of 3292 polling units have been uploaded on the portal out of a total of 3763 units.

Economy Post observed that the results have not beeen uploaded on the portal in the last 2 hours. The elections have so far ended in various polling units and the collation process has been on in the last 2 hours.

Incumbent governor and Accord Party candidate, Ademola Adeleke, is in early lead, winning in Ile-Ife, Osogbo and Iwo. Adeleke also won his polling unit in Ede North Local Government Area, securing 421 votes at Ward 02, Polling Unit 009, Abogunde Compound.

Adeleke also defeated the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the polling unit of former governor of Osun, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, in Okuku, Odo-Otin LGA of the state.

Osun has 2,339,233 registered voters in 30 local government areas, 332 wards and 3,763 polling units, with 1,906,391 Permanent Voter Cards collected. Adeleke secured 125 votes at Oyinlola’s polling unit.

APC candidate, Mr Bola Oyebamiji, however, defeated Adeleke in his own polling unit. The APC candidate polled 563 votes against Adeleke’s 126 votes at Polling Unit 003, Ward 9, AUD Primary School, Atile, in Irewole Local Government Area of the state.
