Cadbury Nigeria appoints Ayman Gaafar as managing director

CADBURY Nigeria Plc has appointed Ayman Hussein F. Gaafar, also known as Ayman Fahmy, as its substantive managing director, effective May 15, 2026.

The company disclosed in a statement signed by Company Secretary of Cadbury Nigeria Plc, Afolasade Olowe, that the appointment was approved by the board following a recommendation from its Governance and Risk Committee and communicated to Nigerian Exchange Limited and the investing public on Monday.

Cadbury Nigeria said Mr. Gaafar brings extensive leadership experience in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector, having worked with multinational companies including Procter & Gamble, Reckitt Benckiser, Danone, and Shan Foods.

According to the company, his expertise spans general management, commercial leadership, business transformation, and market expansion, with responsibility for profit and loss management as well as go-to-market strategies across several regions.

Cadbury Nigeria added that Mr. Gaafar has led business operations across the Middle East, Africa, the Levant, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Canada, where he built strategic alliances, expanded market reach, and drove revenue growth.

The company also announced that Ms Folake Ogundipe will step down from her position as interim managing director following Mr Gaafar’s appointment.

Ms Ogundipe had overseen the company since December 2025, with Cadbury Nigeria commending her leadership, resilience, and commitment in maintaining the company’s strategic direction during the transition period.
