NPA: Thirty-four vessels carrying petrol, food, other cargo expected at Lagos ports

N0 fewer than 34 ships laden with petroleum products, food supplies and other commodities are scheduled to call at Lagos ports in the coming days, according to the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).

The authority said the vessels will arrive at the Apapa, Tin Can Island and Lekki Deep Sea Ports between January 29 and February 6, as outlined in its latest Daily Shipping Position released on Thursday.

Of the expected ships, 20 are container vessels bringing assorted goods, while the rest are tankers and bulk carriers conveying petrol, aviation fuel, crude oil, fertiliser, fresh fish and general cargo.

The NPA also disclosed that 13 vessels and tankers had already reached the three ports and were currently awaiting berthing. These ships are loaded with crude oil, containers, bulk gypsum, bulk urea and other general cargo.

In addition, 19 vessels are presently offloading their consignments across the ports. Their cargoes include bulk wheat, bulk gas, diesel, crude oil, base oil, gypsum and urea, NAN said.

Petrol, fresh fish and containerised goods are also being discharged at the Tin Can Island, Apapa and Lekki terminals, the authority said.
