Zenith Bank gets 6-week extension for H1 results

ZENITH Bank Plc has secured a 6-week extension from the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) to file its audited financial statements for the half-year ended June 30, 2026.

The bank disclosed the extension in a notice to the investing public dated August 18, 2026, signed by its Company Secretary, Michael Osilama Otu.

Under the original timetable, Zenith Bank was expected to submit its audited half-year results by August 29. The NGX has now moved the deadline to October 9, 2026, following the lender’s request for additional time.

According to the bank, its board of directors approved the financial statements on July 29. However, publication is still subject to final regulatory approval from its primary regulator.

Zenith Bank said the outstanding regulatory clearance was responsible for the delay and assured shareholders that the audited accounts would be released within the extended period.

The development comes as several major financial institutions face delays in completing their half-year reporting processes, amid regulatory and audit requirements surrounding the June 2026 accounts.

Access Holdings Plc is also among the lenders granted additional time by the NGX to submit its audited H1 2026 results, with its revised deadline set for September 30, subject to regulatory clearance.

Zenith Bank entered the second quarter (Q2) of 2026 after reporting a modest increase in first-quarter (Q1) earnings.

Its profit before tax rose 2.87 percent year-on-year to N360.92 billion in Q1 2026, compared with N350.82 billion recorded in the same period of 2025.

Profit after tax increased by 0.69 percent to N314.02 billion.
