Private jet fares from Riyadh to Europe hit N479m as wealthy flee Middle East crisis
RIYADH is rapidly becoming the primary evacuation hub for affluent residents and top executives seeking to exit the Middle East as regional tensions intensify.
A report by Semafor revealed that private security companies are arranging convoys of sport utility vehicles (SUVs) to move clients from Dubai to the Saudi capital. From there, chartered private jets are being secured to transport them to destinations across Europe and beyond.
Those leaving the region reportedly include senior executives from global financial institutions, multinational firms, and high-net-worth individuals who had been in the Middle East for business engagements or leisure trips before the crisis escalated.
Chief Executive Officer of Vimana Private, a private jet brokerage, Ameerh Naran, said the cost of chartering a jet from Riyadh to Europe has surged dramatically. According to him, flights that once fell within standard luxury charter rates now cost as much as $350,000, about N479.1 million, for a single journey.

“Saudi Arabia is the only real option for people who want to get out of the region right now. Private jets from Riyadh to Europe now cost up to $350,000,” Naran stated, highlighting the sharp spike in demand and limited availability of aircraft.
Operations and Future Plans Director at Alma Risk, a United Kingdom-based security firm, Mr Ian McCaul, confirmed that evacuation requests have increased significantly. He said the company has been contacted by a diverse range of clients, including families, individuals and corporations”
“We’ve been approached by a mixture of clients including families, individuals, and corporations that want to get out of the region either because they fear for their safety, or for business reasons they just need to be able to travel,” McCaul explained.
The current prices represent a steep rise compared to rates earlier in the year. Data from Fly Elite Jet shows that in January, one-way private jet charters from Riyadh to Europe typically ranged between $50,000 and over $150,000, depending on the aircraft type and onboard configuration.
The surge in evacuation flights follows reprisal missile attacks by Iran targeting United States military bases across the Middle East since Sunday. Multiple explosions were reported in Abu Dhabi, Manama, Doha, Kuwait City, and Riyadh.

The strikes were said to be in retaliation for a joint missile operation carried out by the United States and Israel against Iranian targets.
The escalating conflict has disrupted commercial and economic activities throughout the region. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) shut its airspace, while Qatar Airways suspended all flights. Airports in Dubai also halted operations indefinitely, further limiting commercial travel options.
In addition, several international carriers announced temporary suspensions of flights to and from key Middle Eastern destinations, compounding travel uncertainty and driving more high-net-worth individuals toward private evacuation arrangements.
